Note: On 26 Oct 1835 Thomas was elected a Guardian for Stow Union (Workhouse) [Bury & Norwich Post] Thomas was chairman of the Stwmarket Provident Society on 8 Jun 1836 [Bury & Norwich Post] On 4 Oct 1837 Thomas was awarded a prize for the best dish of 6 nectarines by Stowmarket Horticultural Society [Bury and Norwich Post] and in 1842 by the same Society for 3rd prize for the best dish of cherries
