In 1851 he was described as a grocer and seed man and they had a servant living in Hannah BULLIMORE b Woolsthorpe abt 1837 (she eventually married a shoemaker and moved to Welby). In 1861 William was a grocer and tallow chandler employing 1 man Mary Ann was sister to Martha. Also in 1861 there was a live in servant, Mary Ann HALL aged 25, born in Welby, Lincs.

Note: Alfred was a blacksmith aged 25 and immediately after marrying the couple emigrated to Australia on board the SS Armadale, operated by the Australind Steam Shipping Company Ltd., departing London in November, arriving Fremantle on 1 Jan 1912. The official length for the journey was 63 days, so they made excellent time. The SS Armadale, built by Charles Connell and Co launched on 14 Sep 1909 became a troopship during WW1 was torpedoed and sunk off the coast of Ireland on 27 Jun 1917.
Letitia carried on her midwifery on arriving in West Australia and delivered many babies in Nungarin and surrounding districts before moving to Calingiri in 1926 where she also had delivered many babies in the Victoria Plains districts.
