Note: Witnesses to the first marriage were William PAIN and Sarah ANDERSON. In 1822 Christopher was shown as a pauper. In 1837 the tithe map records Christopher as living in a cottage owned by Mary WHITEMAN In 1841 he was at Chapel Street, Feltwell and was a carpenter, but in 1861 he was an ag lab widower living in Cock Street, Feltwell, with Mary JOHNSON spinster aged 66 born Hockwold as a "house worker". They married in 1st qr 1868 and were still at Cock Street Feltwell in 1871. Christopher was still an ag lab in 1871 aged 75. In 1881 Christopher and Rebecca were living in "Alms House", Feltwell

In 1861 he was farming 126 acres, and as well as James KIDD, two other ag labs were living there: William HARRISON aged 40 born in Littleport and William ALLINGTON, born in Lakenheath.. By 1877 he had bought the Plough and 5 acres of land. See his will here

Note: In 1911 after the death of his father in 1909, James was the manager of a farm at Southery, and his mother Caroline was shown as the farmer. They had two live-in servants: Caroline NICHOLS a 31 year old married cook, and Agnes GODBOLT, a 16 year old housemaid both born in Feltwell. James was living in Brandon at "Clyde Bungalow, Brookville" in 1929 when he applied for and was granted a patent on "removable collars". You can see the patent here.

GENERATION 8
Note:Elizabeth had previously married Jethro FINCHAM 1st qr 1882 [Downham 4b 507] by whom she had 5 children. In the 1891 census they appear living at the Anchor Inn Feltwell Anchor when the landlord was Caroline BOUGHEN, Elizabeth's sister. A George FEETHAM was boarding there in 1891 In 1881 Daniel was a farmer's pupil, and in 1891 he was an engine driver. In 1901 he was an innkeeper and ag lab, living at Feltwell Anchor.
