The Ipswich Journal of 21 Jan 1860 reports on Lowestoft Petty Sessions: George Ayers, fisherman, was charged by Mary Ann the wife of Robert MUMMERY, with assaulting her in her own house on 10th inst. He pleaded guilty, but explained that he had been to his club where he had indulged too freely, and that on going home he went to the wrong house. He expressed contrition and the matter was "adjusted out of court"

The Ipswich Journal of 6 Nov 1886 reported that Mason, master and owner of the "Idea" came in on Fri 5 Nov and reported that during the gale on Wednesday night his nets were cut, part of which he has recovered. A lugger also had its nets cut by foreigners.
